چکیده
Synostosis or osseous union of any 2 adjacent bones can involve any part of the body. Synostosis between radius and ulna can take two forms, congenital and post Synostosis is a very rare congenital anomaly and most cases a post-traumatic, bilateral in 60% and more common in males. It is often part of syndromes such as Crouzon, Apert's and Poland's,4p Bixler syndrome, Genito multiple osteochondromas (hereditary multiple exostoses), limb syndrome. Although the exact etiology is not clear, it has been documented that the basis for the failure of differentiation between the radius and ulna. specimen of bilateral proximal radioulnar synostosis in Department of Anatomy, Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College, Kolar, Karnataka. The specimen limbs of a male cadaver aged 70yrs which were buried under the soil to obtain bones for study purpose. relevant segmen clinical diagnosis. rather than on absolute forearm position.

Three-dimensional Deformity Analysis of the Forearm Bones in Congenital Proximal Radioulnar Synostosis
Congenital proximal radioulnar synostosis (PRUS) is a rare congenital anomaly where the radius and ulna are fused at the proximal portion which can cause the rotation of the forearm to be restricted (Fig.1). Bilateral pronation ankylosis over sixty degrees can restrict the patient’s daily activities. According to the position of the radius head in x-ray, PRUS is classified into three types, pos...

Congenital radioulnar synostosis, which is caused by fusion between the proximal end of the radius and ulna, is an uncommon deformity of the upper extremity. It is characterized by the forearm being fixed in some degree of pronation and patients present with a variety of functional limitations of the involved limb. This condition may lead to difficulties in daily activities, such as writing, ea...
متن کاملFamilial radioulnar synostosis.
A family with proximal radioulnar synostosis segregating in three generations is described. Familial radioulnar synostosis is a rare anomaly; however, the sporadic form is a frequent feature in cases of sex chromosome abnormalities and other syndromes. This disorder has been reported in several ethnic groups, but this is apparently the first example from the black population.
متن کامل[Treatment of proximal radioulnar synostosis using a posterior interosseous antegrade flow pedicled flap].
The aim of this study is to determine the different therapeutic options described for the treatment of radioulnar synostosis, and report our experience with posterior interosseous antegrade flow pedicled flap with technical amendments. Two patients, who were treated with the designed flap, and with more than one year of follow-up, were reviewed. The technical innovations, end result and complic...
متن کاملSurgical outcome of delayed presentation of congenital proximal radioulnar synostosis.
BACKGROUND Presentation of proximal radioulnar synostosis varies from cosmetic concerns with no functional limitations to significant pronation deformity which hampers activities of daily living. Surgical management must be considered based on the position of the forearm and functional limitations. We describe the surgical technique, results, and complications of excision of the radial head alo...
